Welcome to bonus area! Heres where coffee adjacent things might go in the future, like instant coffee or coffee in plastic bottles. Today is an instant coffee in a fancy glass jar by our old friends at UCC! Blend number 114, something lighter and less bitter than their other instant coffees that were available at Asia Mall. Part of me considered getting them all but each one was nine dollars and it would take something like three months to get through each. So, not practical at all.

nutritional facts

From perusing their website many times I know of UCC’s variety of coffee adjacent products, but I didn’t realize the variety in instant coffees they had available! They had four or five options at Asia Mall all in nice glass jars. I keep mentioning the glass jars because I fully plan on reusing this jar as a pencil cup or a planter or something. It’s glass, it’s good forever! Now, my experience with instant coffee is.. none. So I can’t exactly speak with authority on how this one tastes. It’s not too bitter, I can say that! I only need a little bit of sugar to enjoy it each morning. It’s a bit expensive but much cheaper per serving than cans or fresh coffee shop coffee.

Now, of course, I’m certain the cost of importing this jar brings the price up compared to what it might retail for in Japan, but it’s still saving me money overall. Next time I need instant coffee, I’ll probably get instant Cafe Bustello, I love that stuff! Also, as for how an individual freeze dried coffee crystal tastes it’s bitter but gets the flavor profile across very well. I wish I could do better at describing that profile, but I can’t put a finger on it...
