What? A plastic bottle?!!?!?!??!!?! That’s absurd! I didn’t know this segment was called the plastic bottle coffee omnibus now! Well fret not, this is a bonus review! An area where I can talk about whatever I damn well please if you’ll pardon my french. This was another Asia Mall find, and a UCC coffee somehow! UCC is coming up on having as many coffees as BOSS, which makes sense seeing how they’re some of the major japanese brands.
Before you get too worried about plastic waste, this bottle clearly states on the label that it’s PET-1, which can be recycled by the local jurisdiction. So this bottle will be washed out and recycled, like all of the cans before it. Well, I guess I can’t say all all of the cans for certain, I don’t know maybe I threw one away. I never thought about tracking where the waste goes for this project, but then again who does?
So, why this coffee out of all of the ones Asia Mall had in plastic bottles? It was on clearance, that’s all. Taste wise it tastes almost exactly like a UCC original, but maybe just a bit less fake? Or maybe a bit more, it’s hard to tell. Think of a UCC original in a plastic bottle and you’ve got this fancy precious moments coffee. I don’t feel especially compelled to keep drinking it, theres something off with it. It is close to its expiry date. Maybe it would taste better hot, but I know well enough to not put plastic in the microwave unless it specifically stastes its safe for that. And maybe not even then..
