SHEETZ BROS COFFEE

Oh, Sheetz. You're a part of my heart and soul, sort of. For the uninitiated Sheetz is a gas station chain with an attached convenience store that offers made to order food and coffee drinks. Tobacco, beer, greasy food, and decently clean restrooms. They also usually carry the more uncommon types of petrol, like 88 unleaded, ethanol free, and flex fuel. As someone who drives a crappy American car that takes flex fuel I appreciate paying 50 cents a gallon (or thereabouts) less than everyone else. So in the war of Sheetz and Wawa, the true Pennsylvanian political parties, I pick Sheetz. Wawa has better food, though.

Imagine my surprise on a drive back from Asheville, North Carolina, where I found the last new canned coffee, that Sheetz would start complimenting their normal coffee bar and self serve brew with cans! Price wise, are you high? Sheetz is almost always running promotions through rewards programs that offer two dollar iced coffee, and the self serve is pretty cheap too albeit not cold. But like, just add ice cubes! Even these cans were part of a promo, 3 bucks on their own or two for $5 with the rewards app. It's almost a joke to have an in house canned coffee in a place surrounded by all other means of coffee, Starbucks doesn't usually sell their frappucinno drinks next to the real ones.

I really had a coffee vacation, didn't I? One day is going to an asian market to look for new talent and introduce a friend to Highlands (Hi Audrey!), the next day its an iced cafe au lait while walking down (STREET NAME,) and now this. How does it taste? Worse than Sheetz self serve stuff. If there's cream in this I can't taste it, it's so bitter and burnt and just awful. Maybe the vanilla one is better but that's not exactly the point of this blog is it? Cafe au lait all the way, and this one stinks. Just go to the ordering kiosk and put in for a 12 ounce iced coffee with milk and maybe some simple syrup, you'll have a much better time and probably save money. Granted you'll have to wait a few minutes but hey, go pee while you wait.
