For a brand I found so late into this project I didn’t think I’d see another offering from BNC. I’m happy I have! This one claims to be a Latte, and is far cheaper than anything else in this round of the Ombibus save for the Lotte. But the Lotte is teeny tiny, this feels a bit more substantial. I imagine they’ve given up the charcoal roast of their last coffee for the milk and sugar, but it remains to be seen.
I’m pulling at straws at what to talk about just a little, but I will say that the opening and pull tab on top of the can are perpendicular to the front of the label, and that I still adore the regal theming of the design and font choice. The font seems to match between the Chinese (Cantonese or mandarin I do not know, sadly) and the English writing. The logo word mark especially reminds me of something like Grand Seiko. Also, of course, the can is thick. Wow it’s thick! All that metal for a latte, I’ve seen Jerry cans for fuel made of thinner aluminum! What a feat, truly, anything to protect the product in shipping.
Giving it a taste test, it’s weird. It’s, smooth. As in, it goes down like water, not coffee if that makes sense. There’s nothing at the back of the throat to denote this as a drink with flavor. Taste wise it’s good, classic cheap canned coffee fare. Weird aftertaste from the artificial creamer, but I can see myself drinking this one on occasion. Compared to the other BNC though, I think I may go for the lower sugar for the more interesting roast. Oh no, this whole ordeal is making me like the taste of coffee! Help!
