For day two of this coffee review process I feel a little guilty. As stated on the homepage I purposely avoided Starbucks drinks in compliance with the BDS boycott for Palestine. Georgia coffee is a Japanese subsidiary of Coca Cola, a company which was added to the BDS’s list in late November of this year. My deepest apologies for this error.
Li Ming’s Global Market takes residence in a former Circuit City, exterior styling still intact. Inside it’s a large asian market with giant tanks full of live fish, somewhat dim lighting, and shelves full of groceries and delights. Particularly, their drink selection is wonderful, and I’m no stranger to a milk tea or a pocari sweat. It’s there that I bought most of my canned coffees, the cheap Tasco brand in the tiny 6-ounce can. Those will be reviewed in a few weeks time.
I hadn’t seen this Georgia brand before I went shopping for this project, and I certainly didn’t know it was a Coca Cola subsidiary. I only learned this because nowhere on the can is there a listed volume, just the total weight of the can and its contents (250 grams.) It’s similar enough in size to an 8 ounce can, so I’ve just been saying it is one. Flavor wise, eh it’s coffee. The cream and sugar blend is a bit rich, giving it a very vague maple taste. I can hardly taste the coffee itself, actually. Disregarding the boycott for a moment, for 2.99 I wouldn’t buy this drink. It doesn’t have much to offer asides from a nice sweetness.
