DISCLAIMER: The title for this one isn’t fully accurate, I’m afraid. Featured on the can is a U character with the horn on the right ascender and a tilde above. With my total zero understanding of the Vietnamese alphabet I’m not sure if this is a valid character since I can only find u’s with the horn and u’s with the tilde but not both. This is an error on my part and not the coffee, forgive me.
First impressions are everything. The tab broke off the top of this one while I was trying to open it, so I had to jab the perforated opening with a spoon to drink the delicious liquids inside. If you're on the go that could be a dealbreaker, but I promise you if this happens for this one, get that can open at all costs! This is one of the earliest ones I tried long before this project, and after the last few days cappuccinos and confusing vanilla treats, plus a rough personal time due to changes in medication, I needed something truly wonderful, and this delivered.
This is the first of three Vietnamese coffees on this list, and the cheapest one by a good margin. The flavor is simply divine, theres no other word for it. It’s sweet with a slightly bitter aftertaste but it goes down so smooth with almost a chocolate-y taste. The Georgia coffee from a few days ago wishes it was this, though the sweet richness on this is far more subtle. The price is also far lower, my goodness! Outside of yesterday’s dollar tree special this was the cheapest coffee on this list in both base price and cost per ounce. This can was cheaper than gas station coffee and tastes far better. Plus, considering Vietnamese coffees reputation of being very high in caffeine this will wake you up just fine.
It’s been a few days since I’ve finished one of these coffees, I have to be honest. I’ll take three or four sips to really get the flavor profile and move on with my day. Not this one! I drank every drop of this happily. It’s a little calorie rich with a good amount of sugar, but theres also a black coffee variant I may have to try at some point… Get this coffee, drink this coffee, fall in love with this coffee. Best one so far, and everything to come will have a hard time topping it.
